Isa Genzken, German contemporary artist (b. 1948), often regarded as one of the most influential female artists of the 20th and 21st century working across mediums and whose oeuvre continually inspires future generations of artists.

Judy Chicago’s Dinner Party, Large-scale installation with thirty-nine place settings for famous historical and mythical women. Often regarded as one of the first epic pieces of feminist art. On display at the Brooklyn Museum.

Kent Monkman, Cree artist (b. 1956) known for his visual and performance art engaging with the recontextualizing the Euro-American art historical canon.

Félix González-Torres, Cuban-born (1957-1996) American, openly gay, contemporary artist, created installations and art grounded in his proximity to U.S.’s HIV/AIDS crisis. 

Neoclassicism, A revival of classical style emerging in the late 18th century.

Mannerism, 16th-century style often categorized based on the elongation and distortion of the human figure.

Salman Toor, Pakistani-born American painter (b. 1983) often portrays the imagined lives of Queer men of color in settings that resemble South Asia and New York City.
